NOTE: Sergeant Murray was awarded the Distinguished Conduct
Medal for bravery shown during a strong enemy attack at
Dernancourt, 5 April 1918. He was wounded three times while
leading a Lewis Gun team during the battle. He was taken
Prisoner and died in German hands from a serious head
wound, 19 May 1918. He is buried Cemetery of Honour,
Valenciennes, Plot V, Row B, Grave No. 11, France
